Competition: Win a Free Shadow Subscription:
Gaming streaming services are nothing new, but Shadow is something a little different. From French startup Blade, it lets you remotely access a dedicated gaming PC from just about any device with a screen, and use it to play your own PC games on near-max settings wherever you are – you can read our hands-on review to find out what we think of it so far.
The service launched in France last year, and has just reached the UK too. Luckily for you, we’ve partnered with Blade to offer up a free three-month subscription to the service along with a loan of the extra (and rather slick looking) Shadow box to let you use the service on even more devices.
So what exactly is Shadow? Essentially you rent access to the equivalent of a £1,500 gaming PC, complete with a high-end nVidia GPU, eight threads from an Intel Xeon processor, 12GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. It’s yours to use and customise, installing almost any software and games you want, but best of all you can access it through Shadow’s dedicated app for your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet, or even smart TV.
Alongside the main subscription you can also get the Shadow box, a small box with various ports to let you play on a monitor or non-smart TV, and the first 500 customers to subscribe to Shadow in the UK will get a loan of the box for free.
Still, if you enter our competition you can get three free months of both Shadow and the Shadow box – equivalent value £122.70 – just by entering using the Gleam widget below.
For your chance to win, you’ll need to use the giveaway form below. Simply log in to Gleam to use the entry options. You can choose to enter just once, by picking one of the options after signing up below, or you can increase your chances of winning by choosing two or more options.
If you already follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook that’ll count too. Simply press the +1 button and follow the instructions provided.
The competition will end at midnight on 1 February, and the winner will be chosen the following day, completely at random by the Gleam app. Good luck!
